Default Media Center - Restrict to particular folder

I have XP Media Center. When I click 'My Music', it displays all albums. I want to restrict it to show only selected albums from particular folders. I do not find anything in the Settings to restrict it. How to go about it?

Hi vmo, welcome to the PCHF.

If I understand what you want to do correctly, there's only two ways to do it.

First is to move the files/folders/albums that you don't want in "My Music" out of "My Music".

Second is to goto Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> uncheck "Show hidden files and folders"
then right click on the folders you don't want to see, and select Properties...then check the "Hidden" box, Apply and Ok. You should now not be able to see that folder.

Thanks GaRHaR! Yes, I have only those folders in 'My Music' which I want to be displayed in Media Center. But the MC is bringing other folders scattered around in Hard Drive at various places. What I want is that MC should restrict itself to 'My Music' Folder only and nowhere it should seek for media files though I may keep them at different places.
And a special thanks for the welcome!

Oh i see.

To be honest i've never used Media Centre, so i'm not too sure if it's possible - but i don't think it is.

It's designed to make media watching/listening easier, so "My Music" searches for all music on your whole drive. I'll see if one of the other techs can help a bit more.
