it's an internal and yes it's my C: Drive. It's connected to an 80-pin IDE Cable. I've heard putting it in a freezer might revive it. Is that true?

I would not recommend putting a hard drive in a freezer. A hard drive is a electromechanical device. Putting it in a freezer could cause condensation, which is water, inside the drive. *Bad Idea*.
You have two choices, I think. 1. Put the drive in a PC/Laptop and see if it works. Most drives today are built pretty well. I would think it probably survived a simple drop. If you throw it against a brick wall, then you might have a problem. 2. Take the drive to computer shop and ask them to check it out. Good Luck...

1. I put the drive in my Alienware Area-51 M laptop and it still won't work.
2. I took it to a shop and they would not look at it Any other ideas? I know I may be getting on your nerves but if getting a new HD is the only option, then I will... |

Check to see who manufactured the drive and then contact them about Data Recovery Services. If the drive is still under warranty, data recovery and RMA services will be free (though you will have to pay the costs to ship it out to them and there are likely specific requirements to package it).

If you can, place your Windows Install CD into the CD drive and reboot. Select the R option. This could restore the bootup files. If you can't do that, then can you reformat the drive? Since your can't access the drive, then the data on the drive is already lost to you. If you can't reformat the drive, then, in my opinion, you have a new paperweight. Good Luck...
