Ok, new problem... I used Western Digital's Data Lifeguard Tools to transfer all the files from my old boot drive to my new SATA 320GB drive. Windows will now boot off the new drive.
Problem is... the drive letter of the new drive is E: and all links and such point to drive C:, which is still there... it's just no longer the boot drive.
So I figured I'd just try and switch the drive letters, but Windows won't let me do that. It won't allow me to change the letter of my old drive because it says it has a page file, and it won't let me change the letter of my new drive, because it says it's currently booted to that drive.
Is there any way I can swap the two drive letters?

Fixed it! I found out you could change drive letter assignments by modifying the names of the registry entries under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices.
It's probably important to say that you can really mess up your Windows installation if you don't know what you're doing when you change the drive letter of a bootable partition. |
