Default [Resolved] .NET Framework and SPRT

Hi,

Well I have a few questions and some errors that I need answering.

Some time ago I had a game that required that the .NET Framework be installed. So I installed that. Well, now I have removed the game and the .NET Framework and some errors have appear in the Registry.
Both Norton SystemWorks and a free registry cleaner notice these errors but are unable to delete them.

Earlier this year I had a problem with my DSL. After some time talking with a Rep the problem is resolved. However shortly after that time Norton SystemWorks and a free reg cleaner detected some errors in the registry. Each of these errors start with SPRT. Now my provider was Sprint (now Embarq) Could these errors be related to Sprint DSL?

Should I delete these entries and if so how?

Hi Tarrifist,

You could try downloading the trial version of RegSupreme Pro, it's a very powerful registry cleaner. If that doesn't work then this could be a little more laborious. What free registry cleaner are you using. If you don't feel like installing then uninstalling a trial, you could also use the registry cleaner in a small program called CCleaner, it's become rather good too and offers to make a backup for you before cleaning anything.

Although I strongly recommend against editing the registry unless you are fully well comfortable doing so, if you are going to do it I recommend you make a backup first. Start by creating a System restore point. Then run Windows backup and make sure you back up the system state...if you have a storage medium that matches the size of your windows partition (usually c:\)...or at least the size of the amount of data written to that partition, it never hurts to back that up, that way if anything really bad happens, all you do is re-install windows and then restore from that backup and it's like nothing happened.

Next, press the Windows key + R and type "regedit" and hit enter. Make sure you export your registry to a text file and save it onto a disk or another partition or another hard drive.....just not your system partition. This will take a little bit and it will probably be one of the largest text files you've ever seen (last time I did it it was nearly 75 Megabytes which is pretty gnarly for a text file).

Run your registry cleaning software and try to save a log or something (export the results to text file somehow and remove Wordwrap feature when you open it for clarity....did I just say that???)

Next you will want to open up the registry editor again (regedit) and you will want to search for the registry items from the text file one at a time (there may be several of each entry throughout the registry so be prepared to click "find next" a whooooooole lot. This will take some time.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. I made a restore point, backup the registry and then tried to manually remove the entries using regedit. I got this message from windows:

Cannot delete SPRT.ScriptRunner: Error while deleting key.

I have not tried deleting anythng else yet.

---- UPDATE ---

I ran CCleaner and it did remove the entries. Now I will wait a few days to see if any problems arise.
Thanks for the help.
