Default [Answered] Upgrading RAM

I didn't realy know where to post this as its a bit of a floaty subject. Being that the majority of people use XP, i thought that they would of done a lot more work on thier PC's then Vista users.

Anyway, im thinking of upgrading my 2gb of ram to 4gb. This is because the same 2 sticks of 1gb are selling for £60, which is a lot cheaper then when i originally bought them. This also means that they will work together with no problems.

But is it worth it? Does 4gb have much difference over 2gb? Is there any noticible change in performance and gaming and such?

Offer ends this week, so fast responses

Hey Sam,

You will need Xp Professional to support 4gb of ram.

Check you have this requirement, also it will make a difference especially in games etc.

You posted this in the XP/2000 forum which is why it was assumed you were using XP.
The Vista version can handle your RAM.

When the CPU runs out of RAM it uses HDD space. So, yes. There is an advantage to having more RAM, because read/write to/from RAM is much quicker than to/from a HDD.
