Default USB PORTS not working on NEW PC

Hello
I have a toshiba 5 months old and none of my usb ports work. I dont think they ever worked. When i plug my mouse in it works but if it sits for 20 seconds then i have to move it up and down and around to make it work again. IT freezes. Then when i plug my usb modem in the it says installing drivers. which it should i have my own. i cant make it install the right ones. then My mp4 player doesnt work it just says unrecognized. thanks
tell me what info you need

Hi Mike,

Can you do the following; Click on start > run > then type devmgmt.msc and press enter. Do you have any yellow exclamation marks next to anything in that list? If you do, can you tell us 2 things;

1) What they are next to
2) Your PC full make and model number

I have a Toshiba satellite a100-507 512 ram, Celeron M, 1.40 Ghz Ati Graphic card
