Question Too flashy ads & web pages shimmer!

Hi everybody my name is funkyfifer and I live in Scotland.
I am new to the forum and have joined today as I have a problem with the graphics displaying in adverts when I use internet explorer 7.
Basically, the flashing ads, banners etc, flash too much!
They flash so much it is painful to watch on some websites. Not every website I visit is affected, which is strange, and it is not pinpointed to any websites in particular, some days I may visit a page and it displays fine, then next day it can be flashing all over the place!
I have noticed that when I scroll down most websites I visit, the flashing starts and stops when I stop scrolling.
I have a page on bebo that I have a slideshow of my pictures and this slideshow constantly flickers, but only on my pc as I have tried using my friends and it looks fine.
Can anybody help?
Has anybody got to the end of this post?!
Also, I seem to have a problem with the pictures showing on some pages, it starts with a red x then when I right click and choose show picture, it changes to a 3 coloured tiny box, but still does not show the pics.
I have checked all my settings in tools etc and deleted my temporary files and cookies loads of times, but nothing changes.
I'm really stuck and would appreciate a bit of advice if anybody has came across this problem,
Thanks for getting this far!

Ahh sorry, that'll teach me to skim a post

Is internet explorer a must? The best way i've come across to hide ads and such is with firefox with the adblock extension installed and a decent filter set.

The flickering does sound like more of a general problem, personally here is what I would do.
  • Do a windows update
  • Check the sites in a different browser such as firefox or opera to see if the problem persists
  • If the problem still persists make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card installed.

Hi, its flashing and flickering! if that makes any sense!
If I roll over certain adverts they start 2 go mad flickering and taking up half the page!
if I had 2 choose I would say flickering
