Default My sound has gone off, and my pc doesnt recognise my dvd drive anymore

Ok so last night, i pluged my old webcam (a kodak dvc325) in to see if it would work, alas it didnt it locked my pc up , so i restarted my pc checked the kodak website, and they claim the cam doesnt work on dual pro' machines , so i thought ok fair enough , i then relised that now my sound doesnt work, or my dvd drive , my pc is claiming they are fualty so i restared my pc to see if it would detect them but it didnt, so now im stumped i cant re install my sound drivers, cos it wont recognise my dvd drive, anyone know how i cna fix this

Hi madgaz,

i'd go into Device Manager and delete both the sound card and the DVD drive from there, and restart - this should reinstall the drivers by default and then you can reinstall them properly.
