Hello Everyone
I have a problem, C:\Documents and Settings shows an item R A F. when opened I get
a list of shortcuts to all the recently used files I have used,this I pr
esume is how it should be.
However if I go to Start\Search and enter R A F I get a list of hundreds of files(The dog
tells me there are 14,633) these are not shortcuts,thinking they are I deleted a few and found that I had lost them, luckily I could retrieve them. Now I have this very large file cluttering up the machinery..
I would be very grateful if somebody could explain what is going on and how i can remove this file

Hi there and welcome to PCHF

Is the file located thus; C:\Documents and Settings\RAF ?? If it is then this is a user profile. Do you know why this user would have been set up and by whom?

We can tell you how to remove it but you must understand the implications first

Thanks for quick reply
The full address the file showing my recent documents is
C:\Documents and Settings\Unknown\Recent
The list resulting fromStart\Search\Files or Folder\R A F shows the address of every file,
all 14633 of them
The "Unknwn"is myself.

Many thanks for your interest,I dont think this is a User Account I have never had such an account,and as far as I know, it can only be accessed through "search" The 14,633 files of Friday have now increased to 15,284
In your message you mentioned "implications" are they serious

P.S how do I run SpellCheck I have "iespell" installed butit does not seem to br reconized
