Default [Resolved] my pc hangs

I have p4 dual core D805,DGCC101 mobo with 1 gb ram and a xp pro.Lastly I had uninstalled some programmes and from then pc started acting truant.I shutdown and restarted.PC boots ,a dialog box says Loading your settings and that is all and then hangs. But I can use taskmanager to shutdown and restart.Even after inserting XP CD same thing happens.I being no geek, request some solution for it.I have with me a WINPE CD if it helps..But I do not know how to use it.

Hi joe, welcome to PCHF.

Some programmes have shared files. When uninstalling software, it is easy for you to select 'Yes' when asked if you would like to delete these shared files. This can sometimes be dangerous if that shared file is part of another program, driver or even part of the OS.

If you press F8 during startup, you will come to a startup menu. First of all, try using "Last Known Good Configuration". If that doesn't work, try "Safe Mode". When you enter safe mode, log on using the account "Administrator" (you'll need to remember any administrator password that was set when the PC was first set up). Are you able to get this far?
