Well, you're right i think. Freezing will be the last possible solution.
I've got another question. It's a bit offtopic but can I just connect 3 or 4 HD on my motherboard? Or is there any max number of HD you can connect (of course you can't connect more HD than free IDEcables )?

Take the hard drive out as soon as possible, the more you use it the quicker it is going to fail.

Once you get the new drive install the OS and then connect the old drive as a slave making the usage as little as possible and hopefully meaning you'll get more data off it.

I read up on this a couple of months ago freezing the drive kind of works but put it in an antistatic bag/atleast something to keep moisture off it and stop frost forming on the drive, the reason it works is because it makes the platters denser so its easier to 'catch' the data but the change in temperature can do more harm than good, condensation is not good.

Gary Kildall's way of trying to show that DOS was a rip off of his operating system.
