Default Developing ASP.NET sites using Windows Home Edition

I am wondering if you are able to create ASP.NET websites using win HoME. I know that win HOME does not support IIS. But all I want to do is create asp.net websites that retrieve data from a database nothing to fancy at the moment. The best solution would be to use winXP right but I need to know if win HOME can get the job done.

Tell me your suggestions & other limitations for using win HOME to create asp.net sites... thanks in advance!

I don't really have any ASP.NET experience, I know you can run asp.net on windows with apache and mod_aspdotnet SourceForge.net: mod_aspdotnet
