Default [Answered] chkdsk will it take ages?

Hi after around 5 times of turning my pc off without shutting down i thought my pc was getting a tiny bit slower than usuall, my friend said that CHKDSK will fix this, i run chkdsk /f this fixes all my hardrive, it should run faster.

However i heard that this can take up to 7 days to complete, 7 days without a pc omg

My harddrive is 160gb, my processor is 3.33ghz and my RAM is 1024mb (1gig)

Will it really take 7 days

Hmmm its going to run next time i start my pc, is there a way to cancel this i think ill just do a defrag instead, much quicker.

7 days? lol, I think his problems were a lot more than a couple of bad sectors!

Depending on what problems you have on your drive, how much data and how big your drive is, it normally takes between 2 - 6 hours.
