Default [Resolved] Blue Screen Error, please help, thank you

Thought you guys might be able to help me.
It has happened a few times now, at random. Once when watching a DVD on PowerDVD, once when using MediaPlayerClassic etc.
Blue screen appears then within about 2 seconds it reboots by itself.
Here is the error report URL of the error report page that it sends me to after it reboots:
Microsoft Windows Error Reporting

Appears to be Device Driver related. I never have any third party peripherials attached when it happens (or indeed ever really).
So I have checked Device Manager in Computer Management, saw nothing wrong so I set it to show hidden devices in the View menu. A screen-shot of what I saw:
http://cubex.site.googlepages.com/PC_help_problem.jpg

Think that might be it?
This may be the reason, as it did say it was Device Driver related, but I don't know how reliable that error report actually is.
Oh, and I have done a virus scan with AVG, it was clean. And I use Comodo Firewall, so no problems there.

I have attached the dump file as suggested I post by this thread:
http://www.pchelpforum.com/windows-x...bsod-here.html

Thank you ever so much for your help on this.

Hello Alex676! Welcome to PCHF!

Try going to event viewer (Right click on My Computer, click manage, click event viewer, then double click system) and check for error events. Try to reproduce the BSOD and then check the error that shows up at the time of the BSOD. Under the event column, get the event number and under the source column get the name of the source and let me know. Also, if you double click on the error and copy/paste the description, that might help.

I can try to do some research on the event error and see if I can help narrow it down.

Thank you for the reply.
I went to the event viewer already as that is where I got the dump file from.
In the thread I linked to above it said to post the one for Event ID: 1001, though their were other errors there as well. Is that a problem? Should their be none at all?
I am unsure how serious they are.
It may be hard to reproduce the error as you suggest, because it seems to be just randomly timed.
So was the attached dump file above not helpful/the right one?

Personally, I don't know how to read dump files. I have tried using the Windoes debugging tool before but it isn't as easy as I thought it sounded. The reason I asked to reproduce the error, is so you can look at what time it is when the error happens so when you boot back into Windows, you can look at the error associated to what time it was when you got the blue screen. If you can give me the event ID # and source of the error, I can do some research to try to narrow it down.

It is not a big deal that you have other errors in your log...unless there are tons of them. The errors you worry about are ones like the one you are experiencing. Errors that repeat regularly. If you see an error here and there, it is probably just some random service that had a problem in the background and won't affect your system at all.

We need to find the error in event viewer that is being logged when your blue screen happens.

Well, I am almost certain that the dump file I posted was from that error.
Event ID: 1001
Source: Save Dump
I did that because the thread I posted (http://www.pchelpforum.com/windows-x...bsod-here.html) said to.
So I assume we know which error it is, so we know the ID # and source.

Well, come to mention it, I think may be unrelated - But take a look at this.

Click here if the image will not load.
As I wrote in the bottom-right corner of the above image - There are loads of them.
All the way down.
What do you think?

The save dump event is the event after the error. That is the first thing Windows does after an error occurs is save the error information in a dump file. There should be a red X error before that save dump event. When you are in event viewer, filter the events by Type and scroll to the area where there are all the red X's, then try to look at the error around the time the BSOD occurred.

As far as that repeated warning event, that is definitely a problem on your hard drive. The only problem is, there are tons of different comments posted at eventid.net about it. A fair number of the comments posted stated that it was the beginning phase of the hard drive failing. But there was one comment in there that said this:

"I received this error along with EventID 50 from source Ntfs (and EventID 11 from source disk and EventID 5 from source atapi), when I had the paging file and my virtual disks on the same physical disk. When I moved the paging file to another disk the errors stopped."

If you have another hard drive, try moving your paging file to it. Control panel -> System -> Advanced Tab -> Settings button under performance -> Advanced tab -> Change button under virtual memory -> Select the drive you would like to move it to, then click Set, then click ok, then reboot computer.

If that doesn't help, it is possible your hard drive is failing. You still may want to diagnose the stability of the drive anyway.

If you think your hard drive may be failing, find out the manufacturer of your hard drive, go to their website and see if there is a free diagnostics tool you can download to test the stability of your drive.

Here is a link to my research if you want to read through all the comments - EventID.Net

Hope that helps!

Thank you for the information.
I run HD Tune on this machine, you may have heard of it.
Seems to be a reliable program. Here is some information from it.

I am pretty sure that the drive is ok, what do you think?
