Exclamation [Resolved] Game Hang

My specs are as listed under my name just above.. ^^^^^ except the fact i have a 7600gs./

okay here goes, again.
when playing the game BF2142 with the same settings as i have always played with this machine, on exit of the game it hangs, windows will not respond, the game wont respond, any key i press does nothing maybe the cursor will change from the ingame one to a windows one but thats is, otherwise the system locks up, only on exit.. wereas when i play counterstrike, revently it has been locking up when loading a online may anymap i try does the same thing, sometimes ill get in to play the game and others i wont be able to because it locks up, with counterstrike i can alt+tab and see the windows toolbar but it never actually responds so i have to manually restart the computer.. i am frustrated beyond beliefe, i have updated the gpu software and backdated the gpu software to tr fix it any nothing, no difference.

cool and quiet? maybe having a spaz? ram ruined? gpu rooted?
i have also done system restore to last week when the game was playing and there is no difference. HELP please. i punched the computer desk that hard i moved it across the floor, pretty dirty underneath....so i moved it back haha. please... XP home 32 bit..

ill be at work all day tomorow so if you have any yes/nop question can you just assume its one or the other and try gimme an answer, coz i wont be able to reply till the end of the day and if i have to answer small questions it will take days to try solve the prob...

Hi un19ue....sorry for the late reply on this one.

I'd suggest that your drivers need reinstalling...I'd also check to make sure DX9 is fully up to date with the latest version..i think it's 9d or something like that now.

Did this install of windows have the ATI card in there before you put the 7600?
If so, there could be a confliction between the drivers.

okay update in the situation, thanks for the 9d advice, im checking it out rite now., no nvidia driver is the first and only to be installed on this machine. what i have noticed is that it freezes when it is trying to disconnect from battlefield server, when u leave a game of battlefeiels and pres disconnect u usually hear an ingame "tick" to let you know its disconnected, well it doesnt tick, and everything but the mouse freezes, as said before i can do nothing but manually restart. and i also noticed that counterstrike freezes on connection....ots never happened with norton before, norton is up to date, firewall settings are all the same etc...

Hmm...very odd...

As an off chance, i did once have a problem similar to this - the sound card drivers were the problem. I'd suggest updating those first...along with your motherboard drivers.
