Exclamation [Fixed] VERY URGENT locked out of old files

Hey there

I have a computer with 2 hard drives, running windows XP home

I had some problems with booting up but rectified with a system rollback. a few days later the system would not start up at all, it would go through the logon, and just after loading usb drivers would halt and sit with a black screen. After trying everything i eventually switched over my hd priorities and installed xp pro on the other hard drive to try and recover it. It went through about an hours scan of the damaged drive recovering orphaned files on my hard drive did not understand that, but i assume the fat table is damaged.

NOW i have the computer workin on the other HD but i cannot access my documents on the damaged drive, originally could not get into documents and settings but got through those subfolders to my old account through renaming and relocating files. Now i click on anything under my user and it says access denied, and shows the folders to be empty, even though virus scanners can see all the files in there

please help i have coursework that really needs to be in in a few days and cant face redoing it at such short notice

I have attached some files showing what happens when i try

thank you

Ok, if you are using XP Pro, you need to do the following to get the security tab;

1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
3. In the Advanced Settings section, clear the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) check box.
4. Click OK.
