Welcome to the site...can you tell us;

1) The game
2) The equipment you're using (Router/Hub etc)

Hello Waerhy,

Welcome to PCHF.

What games are you trying to play? There are some games that are a little flakey running over a LAN.

However, in most cases, it usually a firewall or some kind of security software such as McAfee which is preventing these connections. Try to disable any such software you have installed on these PC's. If this is the cause of your problem, such as the Windows Firewall (My Computer, Control Panel, Windows Firewall), you can click on the Exceptions tab, followed by Add Program, and select the game you want.

Doesn't sound like a very good setup you have there Waerhy. How are the Pc's connected to each other? Are you sure there is no further security software installed on both PC's? Have you tried any other games other than Cossacks?

Finally, how are your network settings configured. From each PC:
- Go to Start, Run and type in cmd
- From the command window, type in ipconfig /all
- Right click on the title bar, and go to Edit, followed by Select all
- Right click again, and go to Edit, followed by Copy
- Paste the results of both PC's back here.
