Default USB ports not working after fixing hal.dll startup problem.
Hi I recently had an error while my computer booted up saying that the hal.dll is missing or corrupt, so I followed steps to replace it with the one on my windows xp cd. After sucessfully booting the computer, the mouse and keyboard dont work. So I tried rebooting and the mouse and keyboard turned on while it starting booting up but then both cut off. After every reboot anything connected to a usb port seems to work while the computer boots up but then just turns off. Does anyone know any way to fix this?

By the way, they stay on long enough to let me boot in safe mode, but this didn't help, they still cut off.
