I have a windows 2000 pro computer.. the name of the cd rom is NEC CD-ROM DRIVE:282

.. It says I need to download new drivers for it.. anyone help me out?

Hi, to reinstall the driver for it do this:

1) Right click on My Computer and click Properties.
2) Click on the Hardware tab.
3) Click Device Manager.
4) Find your CD-ROM Drive in that list (it should have a yellow exclamation point by it)
5) Right click it and click Update Driver.

Already tried that, It says the sutable driver is already intalled for it and it does nothing.

what did it stop doing exactly?

Cds don't read in it anymore.. it still opens and closes though when I put in a CD it makes the sound like its starting to read it.. then it just stops

Can somoene then explain to me why computer cant be easier to use? this is starting to drive me pretty nuts
