Windows XP/2000 - [Resolved] My CD ROM drive stopped working posted in the Operating Systems forums; Hmm, well did you look inside your box and see if the parallel cable and power source are connected to your motherboard and cdrom drive? If they are take them ...

Hmm, well did you look inside your box and see if the parallel cable and power source are connected to your motherboard and cdrom drive? If they are take them out, use a can of air to clean them of dust and connect them back again. If you dont know what goes where, then try to take it to a local PC shop. : ) Trust me I did that when I was younger and couldnt get it back together, lol. It's probably just a little dust in the parallel or its not connected fully. If that doesnt work, either you need a new motherboard or a new cdrom drive.

Yeah, I made sure they were connected.. and unplugged them and repluged them back in for good measure.. still not working.. its telling me the proper drivers aren't installed. So is there a way I can download these drivers.. and also are you implying that I'm a child? or am I taking that the wrong way

am I doing something wrong? But I really don't think you computer experts know what its like to have a problem that seemingly can't be fixed becuase YOURE COMPUTER EXPERTS!! =(

No, I was just stating that I did that when I was younger. Wasn't in reference to you at all. Give me a few minutes and I'll see if I can find you a driver for it.
