When my computer starts up, it takes about five minutes to get past the screen with the Pentium 4 logo. Then the Windows logo screen shows and takes about the normal amount of time, but then it goes to a black screen for a few more minutes. Once Windows has loaded, everything runs at a normal speed.
The last thing I was doing on the computer before this started was playing an old game (Nuclear Strike). I had to download something from
dgVoodoo to get it to work on XP (I downloaded version 1.40+). When I was playing, it froze and I couldn't ALT+TAB, ALT+F4 or ALT+CTRL+DEL out of it, so I turned the computer's power off. When I turned it back on, it had this problem.
I've uninstalled the game and deleted all the dgvoodoo files, but it's still slow.
