Windows XP/2000 - [Resolved] Restarting in Safe mode posted in the Operating Systems forums; Hey up all, just windering how XP is started in safe mode... I need to do this to remove some spyware R/bots Thanks in advance Shane...

Hey up all, just windering how XP is started in safe mode... I need to do this to remove some spyware R/bots

Thanks for that, however it just brings up a list of things to boot ( HDD, DVDrom, Floppy drive )... thats all.. nothing about booting in safe mode??

hmm are you sure your pressing F8 "after" your BIOS screen comes up?

If that does not work, boot into windows..Click run..type in msconfig
there will be a windows that pops up..In the boot.ini tab put a check in the box that says
/safeboot then restart and you will go directly to safe mode

Sorry forgot the SS

You started pressing F8 to soon.
When that happens, just ESC out of the boot options and resume pressing F8.
Or, do as the Wizard suggests.

Either way will get you there. However, when you can not boot up into Windows to do it his was, do it my way. It does help to be a Wizard though.
