Hi people,
Dont ask me where it came from or how it got there but i have a desktop icon on my pc that i cannot get rid of!
When i double click it ,it doesn't do anything,if i right click it i get options OPEN EXPLORE ,RENAME or CREATE SHORTCUT
Which none of them seem to help!
I even went here to try and find out what file type it was however it aint none of them? Sample Page for the File-type Icons
It may not be doing my PC any harm but i have had it there for ages and now its getting to me
any help?

Well, I dont know what kind of icon this is, but try clicking it once and press Delete on your keyboard. Otherwise it could be a Active Desktop item, to get rid of that right click on the desktop and click Properties. In Properties click on the tab that says Web. Uncheck all the little check boxes and click Ok. Restart your computer and see if it's still there.

Hi thanks
ive tried deleting it no luck! when i right click on the desktop i dont get any Tab that says web?!

Could you possibly tell us what the icon is called?
There are a couple of icons that need an 'around the houses' method to get rid of.

its called "icon" but its only called that because i renamed it whilst in a stress trying to get rid of it because as i said its the only thing i can do with it.
Any more info you need ask but i just cant seem to do nethin with it! Thanks
