right ok lebowski here is what happened i saved the file to my documents then i right clicked it and clicked open with notepad and it came up with this
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace]

Merlin- i have just tried to clean up however when you click "clean now" it takes you through a few steps that you can select the icons you want to clean and.......thats right you guessed it i cant select that icon from the list!!

This is strange, can you expand namespace and take a screenshot? (Tip: If you press alt + printscrn it will take a screenshot of the current window only)

This is certainly confusing it's not even in registry, maybe I'm missing something (fairly likely)

I want to see if the other techs can come up with something, either that or I have one more solution but its a little, I dunno 'brute force'
