Okay 'Running slow' could be any number of things it's a process of trial and error and little things that make all the difference.
- Virus scan in safe mode
- Do the prework
- Post logs in the HijackThis section of the site
- Clean up anything bad lurking in there
- Install driver updates and windows updates
- Defragment your drive using windows defrag tool or a third party tool such as IOBit Smart Defrag I recommend it as it does a very good job and can be configured to defrag on the fly in the background, meaning you will very rarely have to do it again
- Clean the cache, use something such as CCleaner as well as disk clean up
- Review start up items
- Remove any start up items you don't use oftern
- Review running services
- Set up scheduling for 'routine maintenance'
If you are unsure about any of this, just ask and I'll be glad to help
