Windows XP/2000 - windows media center question posted in the Operating Systems forums; i have media center and it lets me record live tv and i can also burn what ive recorded to a DVD... my question is ifi burn it to dvd ...

i have media center and it lets me record live tv and i can also burn what ive recorded to a DVD... my question is ifi burn it to dvd will i be able to play/watch it on a standard dvd player? if not if there a way to convert the file to the necessary format to be watched on a standard dvd player?

yes you will be able to watch it on a normal dvd player if you burn it correctly.
i dont think you can just drag and drop you will need to get some burning software like nero or something along those lines.

well yeah i have that.. im just wondering if i go to media center and click on copy to dvd (it gives you the option to do tht) will if be in normal dvd player format or would i have to convert it to something else to watch it on a standard dvd player... because when i look at the recorded file properties on my pc.. it has it listed as a windowd media file... and well i dont think dvd players play "windows media" files
