Hey, ignore my below thread, restarted my pc with another version of windows, similar error again though, When i go to install programme's.... It says something along the lines "Cannot launch installer, iKernal.exe cant be launched, RCC unavailable" or something similar to that...

Help? Can this be fixed? Or am i gonna have to re-format again

Is this problem happening right after a full format and reinstall of windows? If it is, I would imagine maybe your windows discs are bad or maybe your hard drive is bad considering you're having windows errors right after installing.

If not, then I would first try a repair install of windows. If you have a Windows disc, boot to it, but instead of choosing to format and do a full install of windows, choose repair install. It will ask you to hit enter to install windows, then in the next screen it will give you the option to repair windows. A repair install of windows will not affect any of your saved data.

That should fix your windows installer, kernel problems, and RPC service, etc. If that doesn't help, or only fixes it for a short time then you start having the same problems again, then I would suspect you have malicious software.

Thanks for that, Will try that as soon as i get home, sounds easy enough, home it works, if it dont, i'll just have to try get another xp disk and re-try
