I do hear the shutdown sound, but the bootup sound won't play -- yep, I miss the sucker! Can anyone help me get it working again?

Start/control panel/sounds and audio devices/audio tab, scroll down the windows list until you reach startup, left click and it should indicate the default sound, click ok. I personaly use a downloaded snippet of the matrix "welcome to the real world" as mine boots up. LOL
