Default unknown programme running?

hi there
been having trouble with spyware, see my log reaccurring spyware in hijack this log section.
don't know if this could be related but at the xp user log in screen after i log in and surf net etc, i close all aplications i've been using and leave the system to return to log in screen it says i have 1 programme running...
i log in check the task manager and no programmes are listed as running.
am confused, just a bit paranoid there may be a nasty programme running in background somewhere and causing all the spyware i'm getting.

have tried everything detailed in the hijack log and all clean up operations which worked.
untill i open internet explorer then straight away i get critical spyware cookies appearing in ad-aware se.
most common ones are
revsci
doubleclick
zebra

thanks for your time in reading this.
any comments and suggestions appreciated.

There will always be a program running whilst your pc is on. The only way to close all programs is to shut the system down. Its not a process but the system itself. Dont worry.
