I would give you a screenshot but I have an ATI card but still may be able to help with one..

You will see it in your toolbar, right next to your clock...If you right click on that, you will be overloaded with options..Look for color managemnt..You will find Gamma control somewhere in there.Also try messing with the brightness as well.

I just looked at every possible thing I could click on in there and I didn't find it.. what the hell am i doing wrong? I'm pretty sure I'm about to trash my computer.

Right click on a blank bit of desktop > properties > settings tab > advanced button
