That is for MSN Messenger, why would you want to stop it from running?

Or do you mean startup?

IF startup use a startup manager if you have one or disable it in MSN options.

thanks for the quick response upgrader764,
im pretty sure its windows messenger, and I use msn messenger for chatting. Msn messenger is a different program I think, becuase in program files or wherever its saved there is a messenger folder for the windows one, and theres one for msnmessenger if its installed. it runs as an IE extension according to Autoruns, which I dont think is needed.

thanks, jake

Lets disable it the safe way

1. Open Windows Messenger
2. Sign in.
3. Click tools then options.
4. Preferences tab.
5. Uncheck Run messenger when windows starts.

msmsgs.exe is for MSN Messenger.

However, Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger are the same program...just different versions Just the same as MSN Live now
