Default My problem with file opening

Hey guys really hope someone can help me

on my desktop i have a my documents shortcut as you'd expect but whenver i double click it instead of it opening my documents it opens the search application (you know the one with the little dog).

i can right click and click open and opens but not double click.

the problem is that on the right click menu instead of open being at the top, search is at the top.

this is the same for all my files on my desktop that have shortcuts eg my music etc.

no idea how it happend, any ideas would be very much appreciated

paul

Hello again Paul,

I've had this issue before...i just can't remember the fix off the top of my head, give me a minute and i'll see if i can't find it for you.

EDIT:

Ok, try this

Start -> Run -> Regedit

open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and navigate to Drive,
click on [+] sign and then on value Shell,
right click on String value [ab] (Default) on the right side of the window,
modify Value data to none,
and that's all.
