hey there my first post in here but i have a weird problem, for some reason i caanot access some files/folders on my system anymore. when every i try to access the control pannel/my document/mycomputer etc my system closes down the task bar and shuts down half my active programs. flickers and them cums back on minus some programs.

i have ran full virus and spyware checks, and used o and o defrag to .... defrag my system, i also use crapcleaner to free up space on my system from time to time.. think maybe that couldnt have delted something?

Welcome to PCHF.

Do you have an XP CD? If so insert it into your CD Drive and then hit the Windows Key+R,

in the run box type sfc /scannow and let it do it's thing. If you don't have an XP disk then simply do the same without inserting a disk.

If there is no difference then try running through the instructions in the Prework Link in my signature. You will end up with 3 logs at the end of the process, please attach them as text files to your next post and we'll have one of our security guys take a look at them.

BTW, O&O rocks I use nothing else.
