Default [Answered] My mouse chooses multiple icons when hitting just one!

When I click on an icon in the middle of a group of icons, all the icons up to and including this icon gets activated. It is like this for all icons, not just on my desktop.I think it may hve something to do with Filter keys, but I am not quite sure what. I accidentally pressed my shift-key for a long time and activated the filter keys by licking OK without reading the text in the dialogue box firts.

Anyone have a clue to what I can do to fix it?

Hi oistein,

Welcome to PCHF.

Holding down the shift key will certainly do that, if one icon is already highlighted, holding down the shift key will selected all the icons between the selected icon, and the icon you just double clicked on. Each of those selected icons will then start. Does this make any sense?

I believe you may have been using Sticky Keys instead of Filter Keys. Turn off sticky keys by going to My Computer, Control Panel, Accessibility Options, and untick the "User Sticky Keys" option to stop that from happening again.

EDIT: Marked as answered.
