Default [Answered] weird mouse problem

hi my m8 is experiencing a weird problem with his mouse. at first when he boots his pc the mouse works fine then after a few minutes of use the pointer just freezes. But the mouse seems 2 b still working as right click seems to work but the pointer does not move. he has tried a different mice and the problem still occurs. this started a few weeks ago. any help will b appriciated

Hey Kibz,

I've not known software issues to cause this. The last time I actually resolved this kind of problem, it turned out to be a fault on the motherboard, below the PS/2 port itself. Your friend should be able to use USB as an alternative to PS/2?

he has tried a usb mouse the same problem occurs its a weird problem

Meybe he could try uninstalling all mouse drivers, then booting his PC back up with a usb mouse plugged in and see if there is any joy.

Control Panel -> System -> Hardware(tab) -> Device Manager

Then have a scout around for all the mice that are installed on the system, right click on the mouse and click uninstall.
