At work, when pressing ctrl + alt + delete to access the task manager, I am given th eoption of "locking my computer". At home, I do not have this option. I am uaing WinXP at both locations. Is there any way that I can get this option at home?

Hi Willy,

Yes there is a way, but you will need to sacrifice the welcome screen. Follow these Steps:

1. Start
2. Control Panel
3. User Accounts
4. Change the Way users log on or off.
5. Uncheck Use the welcome screen.
6. And click Apply.

Then its done

You can keep the welcome screen and just turn off "Fast User-Switching." That's what I've done and Windows Key+L works just fine.

Yup, Windows key + L locks the computer.

Willy, the difference between your work and home computers is your work is most likely on a "domain"...and as such has higher security settings. Your home computer is likely to be a single computer, or setup on a "workgroup" with less security.

That allows you to lock the computer but not get the menu when ctrl-alt-del is pressed.
