alright, so every once in a while (sometimes quite frequently) I get a
BSOD. I've attached the dump file, so you can check that out. I don't think it's any kind of virus, or if it is none of my detection software (spybot search and destroy, hijackthis, etc) can pick it up. It might be a hardware issue, but none of my hardware has been changed since before this was happening, and the computer isn't very old, so the chances of something just not working anymore is there, but less of an issue...
When I send the error report to microsoft, It tells me I need to update my video drivers. Unfortunatly, when I update my drivers (or download SP2, which is a bummer) my computer becomes extremely laggy. Everything loads with a scanline, scrolling in browsers, windows explorer, word, etc is choppy. Everything loads slowly (not the internet, just programs in general). It's really annoying, especially since alot of the newer microsoft programs require SP2 (like visual studio express)...I usually use system restore to get back to before I installed the drivers and/or SP2.
So there are my two problems. I mostly want to know if there is a way to fix the
BSOD problem, as random reboots when I'm in the middle of things are no fun, but if someone knows how to fix the slowdown when SP2 or drivers are installed, I'd appreciate that as well.
