Windows XP/2000 - [Answered] cfg files posted in the Operating Systems forums; whenevr i get an email containing a cfg file my system does not recognise it and i cant open it. I run windows xp can somone please help???...

hello graham, and welcome to pchf.....what are you trying to get emailed to you? And do you know the person emailing the .cfg files to you?

HI thanks for your speedy reply the e-mail is a patch for the war rock online game and i do know the sender but it says "windows cannot open this file" it needs to know which program created it???

well, those are usually configuration files, and probably shouldn't be messed with. If you need to open it to see what's in there, you can right click, choose open with, and then choose notepad and that should open it, but I don't see what that will do for you.....?

You will probably need to put them in part of the War Rock directory. I suggest you email back and ask where they need to be put. You don't really need to open them.
