That is not the latest Bios, either. They are often not --even on "brand new" rigs -- there have been 2 updates since then--one with CPU "updates" (not specified)
The latest version is the one in the link... flashing a BIOS is not without risk--but this particular one has a "recovery" mode-- so if the update corrupts or you lose power in the 2 min it takes-- you can fix it-- not all board makers do this... most better ones DO.

BIOS = Basic Input/output System it is the VERY first thing in the boot process so if it ain't right-- you ain't bootin'

I was just looking in the boot menu, Hard drive order, and the hitachi is listed first. I wonder if that changes when i unhooked the hitachi. It must.

Should i do the BIOS updates you think. I can do the ones right online. (Express Bios Update) can be done in the Windows enviroment.

Dont mean to brag-- but I think we're among the best especially in low response time-- we take group pride in that. Nothing is worse than being ignored.

We still miss a very few-- but we are working on that, too

NOTHING is auto in the BIOS EXCEPT --if it tries to boot from a drive/item and cannot it will go down the list until it can.

I would try it-- it can't hurt-- follow the floppy or CD directions though-- that update program they have runs IN Windows-- which you can't get to yet
