The delay is no problem! You should not be fussin' with me today anyhow!!

What I've been doing is trying the windows disk again. Last time I entered the recovery console, this time I let it go a little farther and I'm trying to repair Windows. I originally planned on trying a full install, but the drive showed up and it asked me if I wanted to install or repair. So I figured I would give this a try. I switched sata slots on the mobo, and all seemed to be going great. I've got farther than I ever have this time. Right now it is as follows:

Well, I was going to say it was stuck, but it's moving again!! (Crossing my fingers!!)

No such luck. It did in fact install the whole OS, but, now it will not boot into it.
This is what I get:

And when I try to boot into safe mode, I get this:

I'm going to put the clanckity old drive back in and just give this a rest. I know you probably need it, you have tried your very best. There is a way to do this, but it's hard for you to decipher all of this over a message board. The old drive should still work , I hope!! I'm gonna go hook it up and try to boot into it.

Thank you again for all of your help!!!!! Enjoy your Holiday!!

I am afraid, after all this the only thing I can suggest is a full reformat and reinstall-- I am out of ideas-- I can put it to some of the other techs ?

Well, I was going to try a full reformat/install, it can't hurt I guess. I am going to be a regular visitor here, so maybe if we all put our heads together sometime, we may beat this turkey.

You've done more than enough, you need to relax and enjoy your holiday.

Thanks again!!

just reading through here, and I learned a bit...which is one of the main reasons TO stick around....I agree wholeheartedly, time to nuke, pave, and try again from square one.....gave this a good run, the two of you did, but now I think that enough has gone on that the registry in the install is probably confused as to what it's looking for. A clean install shouldn't take all that long, and it will give you the chance to try the ghost again, which is a finicky task at best.
