I see what your saying about the PSU, but I can't understand how they got the OS to install on the faulty drive? The system ran beautifully too, with the exception of the HD. And like I said, before I took the faulty drive out, I partitioned, formatted and installed a new OS on it, with NO problems!! Go figure!
Getting a new PSU probably wouldn't be a bad idea, it's just getting hard to justify to my wife all this money I am sinking into this system!!
I would shut that Program down @ this point. Hold down the power button/reboot...after removing the floppy-- if there's no errors by now there won't be. ( I wrote a lengthy answer to this this AM it did not appear --probably just as well)
You could get a decent PSU for $60-100... an excellent one for what you would pay the shop. I'd be willing to bet that's the issue.
Too many indicators that it could be including that "stock" PSU being on a hardware/over-clocker's forum as a brand to steer clear of.
I'll ask for other opinions... just to be safe(er)

...and do more research tonight (working now)

I really appreciate you checking into this for me. I'm also going to be checking into some prices. Kinda hard to find one, that is not on the list, for a decent price.
I'm gonna do a little research now and see what I turn up.
Thanks again for your help, bills!

I found this at Newegg from Enermax-- checked with our tech-leader...
Newegg.com - Buy Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

There were a couple of others but they were 'lesser' brands.
Enermax is a very good maker.
I would feel comfortable recommending it.
I have a Seasonic... but they run over a hundred usually.
As far as service-- you won't get better than Newegg.IMHO

That seems to be a decent PSU, not a bad price either. I'll definately have to look into that one.
I can't even imagine being able to use this new system finally. Something I'm definately looking forward to.

Actually there are those who say Enermax is the best.... This is not their top model-- but it should be more than adequate for your system.

Their high-end Gamer's PSU's are a bit pricey-- but they get all kinds of "Editor's Choice Awards" and such ...

Looks good, bills! I'll check it out in a little more detail in the a.m.
That should work great for my system.

The first one... right? Not my last post-- did you check those prices from that link-- $350 for a PSU is too rich even for my tastes.
If I was a professional Gamer ...maybe.
I can't imagine all top end stuff. You'd spend 600.. just for the case and PSU empty...
Then about another 2 g's for Mobo/processor/RAM
1200 on video cards
monitor-- I would have to research more first
then of course the latest sound -- this would do ($1150)
