Default Computer does not detect Internet!

I'm not a computer expert, so I am not fully certain what is wrong wtih my computer.

But anyway, Firefox, IE, and AIM do not detect that there is an internet connection on my computer. It is not a problem with the wire connecting my computer to the internet because we tried connecting that wire to another computer and it worked perfectly. So I am certain that it is a problem with my computer.

I went into Control Panel, and I saw that the computer itself sees that it was connected to the internet because it showed the ISP without an "X" next to it. So my problem is probably something INSIDE my computer that is blocking all of these programs from connecting to the internet.

I ran SpySweeper, and I am right now running AdAware. I'm also going to run Norton AntiVirus to see if that will help, but I doubt it. Can ANYONE here help me with this?

Oh and this all happened very randomly. I was browsing Wikipedia yesterday around 4 PM when suddenly everything stopped loading and when I reset my computer, nothing connected.

Please help!! Thanks!

Let's see if you are actually getting a network address.

Click on start > run > type in CMD and hit enter > type in ipconfig and hit enter. Do you have an IP address and if you do, what is it?
