Hi jos,

I'm confused. How did you install Windows if your stuck in BIOS? And how are you getting into BIOS in the first place without pressing F1, F2 or [DEL]?

I havntgot a clue, the latest I am getting now is when i switch on i get a whole list of stuff about my notebook ending with 'Pri master Hard disc: s.m.a.r.t. status bad, backup and replace. I cant even get to F1 to resumeat times. I have tried to go to safe mode but it says i have windows\system32\fog\ststem is missing or corrupt, it wont even let me fully install my cd rom to restart windows now with halting halfway through the first disc.

Hi Josam,

The screen you are describing there is called the post screen, not BIOS. The error message you recieve is during windows startup. I'm not familar with anything stored in c:\windows\system32\fog\system. It's sounds like software was unsuccessfully un-installed. The files have been removed but windows is still trying to load them. Has any software been removed recently? Does this occur when starting in normal mode also?
