I am constantly having to resize my screen on boot from 800*600 back to 1280*1024.
This is because when I restart the pc again after a shutdown its back in 800*600.

Any thoughts as to why this is?

I'd suggest first thing to try would be drivers. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest you follow the Prework steps in my signiture, and post the resulting logs.

sorry i know little about drivers please could you give me instructions as to what to do here regarding drivers.
