Default [Answered] Browser wont start up (FF)

I'm lucky enough to get here to tell about this... >____>

Just yesterday, out of the blue, I turned on my computer to go check up on my email. When I tried to run FireFox, it didn't open it. Still doesn't. I'm using IE at the moment, and this thing didn't work either at first...

I've ran virus checks and found nothing, and I've cleaned and defragmented my registry as well. And, I've uninstalled FF and installed it again. No use.

I can live with IE, but... Yeah, it's not the safest browser out there... Not to mention, slower than others. (From my experience.)

Any solutions?

(And sorry about posting this in the wrong place... I noticed the software place after I posted this. xD)

hit ctrl - alt - del and go to task manager, click on the processes tab, and see if there are any firefox.exe running. If so, right click, kill process, and try again. FF just released and update, and that may have been what hosed your system, although that's more MS's style. Are you running 2.0?

No FF's in Task Manager.

I had FF 1.5.[more numbers] before. When it didn't run it, uninstalled it, I tried to install 1.5. That didn't work, so I trashed that too and went for the 2.0. I did that maybe 5~10 minutes before posting here.

when you click on it to open it, do you get an error? After you click on it to open it, check the processes tab, and see if it's running there. If no errors and no processes, go to start > run > eventmgr.msc, that will open an explorer like pane, check under apps or system for any exclamtion points, and double click those to see if they are related to firefox. If they are, click the two pieces of paper on the right (after you've opened the event) to copy the contents to the clipboard, and then come back here and post the results. thanks, v

It doesn't give any message. I click it, my processor tries to do something, and it never opens. And, it never appears in the processes.

New problem, it can't find eventmgr.msc. I even searched it from my harddrive, but Windows cant find it. O_o

my fault, I got two separate commands mixed up. Try eventvwr.msc.

Sorry about that, sort of busy here this morning.....

Couple errors, but...

1) They're in Finnish. xD
2) There's nothing about FF there.

And it's ok. Go get a cup of coffee, maybe it'll help a little. =O
