Question please help, computer wont start

I need help please, im depserate. In the last couple of weeks ive had my second hardrive which gave me a "Delayed Write Error" which i think is errors on the hardrive. It slows down my computer and recently made me reformat in fustration. Now i had a fresh xp which i managed to fix the hardrive problem by running CHKDSK before startup, which fixed the errors, however, still sometimes gave me errors..

- Now i cant even start my pc, as it goes black just before windows start up.
- I cant run in safe mode or last recent working windows configuration..
- Ive tried removing the second hardrive, however the same problem

Im desperate to fix the problem, and not have to reformat agian

please can anyone help..? thank you in advance

Since your hard drive progressively got worse, you probably need to buy a new Hard Drive. Since you formatted, you probably have backups, so you are good in that reguard.
Any computer store should have hard drives, but watch to make sure that you pick up the right kind. The two major kind are S-ATA and IDE.

Once you get your new drive, you will have to reinstall everything. Sorry, not a cheap way around it.

really...? how about i reformat my second hardrive, which is giving me problems, i havent reformated it before.. and all my backups are on this second drive..

so i was thinkin..
- remormat my first drive
- installwindows
- then move all the files from second drive (backup) to first drive
- and then remormat the second drive as soon as possible..

so then i'll have a fresh second hardrive.. which will give me no problems..?

thanks for the help

looks like my plan worked, my second hardrive has no more problems after reformating, and my computer is running fine. thanks for the help, however the idea of buying a new hardrive was out of the question for me.
