Default Ipod Help

First of all, I hope this in the right place, apologies if it isnt!

I have recently started using a new pc at home and as part of this I have downloaded Itunes from scratch which has all worked fine.

Unfortunatley I have plugged my Ipod nano (yeah, yeah I know nano's are for girls!) and a little bubble in the bottom right of the screen says the computer does not recognize the usb and on my computer nothing comes up at all unlike if I plug a memory stick or something in (if that makes sense!)

I have tried restarting my computer and tried a couple of diffrent Ipod usb leads (both of which worked on my other pc) and still nothing happens!!

Any help greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for getting back to me.

I think XP is assiging it a drive, when I plug the Ipod in nothing appears but when I plug a flash drive in it comes up on "e:" drive, is this what I needed to check? I havent changed any of them.

I think what Hengis means is that the iPod has assingned the same drive letter as another drive in the PC. In this case you would have to use the disk management to reassign a new drive letter for the iPod.

Im sorry if I am being a bit dense but im not sure what im supposed to do. If I plug my ipod in it doesnt "show up" any where, the only recognition it is plugged in to my computer is the bubble in the bottom right hand corner saying "computer does not recognize usb" but it is ok if i plug other stuff in to it!

Again, sorry if im being dense.....
