Hi Rodents,

Have you updated to the latest codecs?

i have the same problem, when i try to play avi's it just plays the sound and not the video, i have tried playing it with various players, wmp 11, winamp etc. and i have installed the k-lite codec pack but it still just plays the sound, i know that it is not the video because the videos are on my memory stick and when i put my memory stick in other comps and play it it works fine.

Try copying the videos to your hard drive, your USB may not be fast enough in your computer.

Let see here, did you format and reinstall? Upgrade to Media Player 11? Install another player lately? Had any other issues lately? How much RAM do you have? Tell us more!

Ahh, I lost track of this thread! I did not (and cannot) format/reinstall Windows, I don't see why that should be necessary. WMP11 was upgraded to. I recently upgraded QuickTime but the problem only occurred when I upgraded to WMP11, which wasn't at the same time, but I don't remember whether it was before or after. I have 1GB RAM. I know my AVIs are not corrupted as most of the ones I'm trying to play are ones I've played successfully before the upgrade.

I don't know where to go to upgrade codecs...

Bump-bump!

I know DivX Player works with that, but I want to be able to play my AVIs with MP11. Even my more recent AVIs definitely work because QuickTime has no problem.
