Default [Fixed] Big exe's

Hi, anyone know if such a problem is common? My pc seems to hate big exe files. By big I mean over a gig. When I run them nothing happens except I can't start anything else. Not even process manager. After a while everything opens up and I can see the installer running in process explorer but still nothing happens. After about 10 or more minutes finally the installer starts up

What on earth kind of .exe file uses up a gig? Remember that these executables need to be loaded into memory first, so I wouldn't be suprised if your PC is having problems, even if you had all that RAM to spare.

well I have 1 giga ram. But there is for example the installer of fear - combat which is 1.8 giga exe and I had same problems with red orchestra installer some years ago. So there is no solution to this?

Ahh, that would make sense, since the .exe itself is only a small part of that, the rest of the filesize is all the compressed files embedded in. To me, this sounds like a problem with a particular installer. I know fear uses "Ghost Installer", which to be perfectly honest, I've had little experience with. However, these issues are most likely a cause of another application running in the background (most likely security software), a corrupt windows file or malware. Try disabling any security software you have and then try the installer.

Hmmm wtf I just noticed that when I start the exe file it starts two fearcombat_en_107.exe applications in the process explorer. Thios time I have killed all security. No problem now in starting ctrl-shitf-esc. and after 2 minutes the installer started thanks. Any other solution than diabling all the stuff?, haha

With some security software, you can exclude .exe files, but if I were in your place, I would just disable it when you need to run any large installers like these, since .exe's are the easiest to embed virus's into. Your security software should be sitting into your system tray, so it should only be a case of right clicking on that icon, and selecting "Disable".
