Question [Answered] change boot order in bios?

I was recommended to change the boot order of my hard drives in my BIOS so that my 2nd drive will boot first. How do I do that?

This is where I am at the moment:

When I try to boot up my computer all I get is a screen that says: ”Missing NTLDR file. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to restart.”

Here’s how I screwed up:

I installed Windows XP to my secondary hard drive, leaving Windows 2000 on my primary hard drive. Then I tried to format my primary drive. With each try, I got an error. I got frustrated and deleted everything that I could from my primary hard drive including all system files. There were a few left that I could not delete but most everything else I deleted. I restarted my computer and got the screen listed above.

What do I do?!?!

On startup tap F8 to enter the bios, Scroll to boot order using the arrow keys and look for your secondary hard drive , select it and restart your machine. That should do the trick.

no all that did was ask what order i wanted to boot between usb, hdd, and cd drive. no options to alter order of 2 different drives. my friend told me to change the master/slave settings and so i reversed them.

unfortunately, then i had to insert my boot disk (upon request) and i had the options of installing windows (which i would assume would erase my data), repairing windows, or exiting setup. i chose to repair and now have a DOS screen. I entered the help command and was given many options of different repair commands.

Which do i choose?
